Adventure Summary

A 5th-level one-shot for Foundry VTT. In the tundra ruins of Coldglass, strange lights flicker beneath the ice where an Ancient White Dragon sleeps in magical hibernation. Lord Vaelis Morn, a visiting noble, vanished while investigating them. His aunt, Lady Elowen Morn, hires the adventurers to recover him. In truth, Elowen arranged the disappearance and is using the party to breach the final seal so she can harvest dragon-ice and awaken the wyrm as a weapon.

Background

Coldglass was once a watch-fort built over a glacial cavern. Its founders bound a wounded Ancient White Dragon, Skarvathrax, beneath the ice with three rune pylons. Recently, auroras have begun pulsing from below. Lord Vaelis discovered Elowen’s plan and fled into the ruins with evidence. Elowen sent mercenaries after him, then publicly claimed he vanished while chasing lights.

The Hook

Lady Elowen offers a Bag of Holding and 500 gp to find Vaelis. She is calm, generous, and insistent that no one damage the ruins. A DC 14 Wisdom (Insight) check notices she is more worried about the ruin’s seals than Vaelis. She provides a silver map-pin that “marks the safest entrance”; it actually guides the party toward the seal chamber.
