Adventure Summary

Level Range: 5–7 | Party Size: 4–5 players

Background

In the frozen expanse of Vargoth, an ancient white dragon named Zalathor slumbered beneath the ice for millennia, guarding a relic of immense power: the Frozen Heart, a crystal that warps reality to freeze time and space. When a mining expedition unearthed the artifact, its magic destabilized the tundra, summoning spectral wolves and fracturing the land. Now, two factions—the Order of the Frostbound (a cult seeking to harness the relic’s power) and the Iron Veil (a militaristic group aiming to bury it forever)—have descended on the region. The party is drawn into this conflict, unaware that both factions are manipulating events to claim the relic for their own ends.

The Hook

A mining village near the tundra sends out a distress call: the ground is cracking, and spectral wolves are attacking travelers. The party is hired to investigate, but upon arrival, they find the village abandoned, with strange ice formations and a glowing crystal embedded in the earth. As they examine the relic, the air grows colder, and whispers echo in their minds. Before they can act, two groups of mercenaries arrive—each claiming the relic is theirs.
