Adventure Summary

Levels 3-5. The coastal fishing village of Brinehook has endured three weeks of black rain, screaming winds, and nightly attacks by a huge shape beneath the surf. The villagers hire the PCs to slay the “storm-beast,” but the true danger is the paranoia spreading through town as fear turns neighbors into enemies.

Background

A wounded water elemental was drawn from the Plane of Water when a derelict weather buoy cracked open during a magical surge. Confused and in pain, it lashes out at boats and docks. Each attack worsens local panic, which a bitter councilor, Marrik Vell, exploits to accuse rivals of “feeding the sea.”
